“Painting is a dialogue between me and myself - a kind of self revelation. A tension prevails till the brush stops, and then the mind is at rest. The power lies in the feeling that manifests itself in various forms and surfaces. It transforms into a pictorial language that needs to be experienced more than understood”, says Sujata Dharap, artist and muralist. Over the last 27 years, Sujata’s works include innumerable paintings and more than 150 murals. She has travelled extensively in the US, Singapore, Indonesia and France to absorb art and architecture. For Sujata, creating images that emerge spontaneously on the canvas is exhilarating. She believes that art becomes richer when it is accessible to all and can be enjoyed by everyone. Sujata lives and works in Pune.
About the Artist Rashmi Bhadkamkar is a sculptor/potter based in Pune(Maharshtra,India) Though a student of economics , she found her true calling in the medium of clay. Over the last 16years..She has showcased her experiments with clay through solo and group shows.Along with sculpting she enjoys sharing her passion for clay sculpting and studio pottery by teaching children and adults , at the Creative club (Art Studio, pune). Artists Note: Inspiration occurs at a blink of an eye, a peculiarity of a form, or an emotion experienced. While sculpting I usually plunge into the process of creating and clarify the idea as the form takes shape. Sometimes the idea is just a brief glimpse in my mind; at times a simple line drawing is the staring point. With each form there is a strong need to bring out the inherent characteristic which originally inspired the piece.
