With Warm regards,
Indian Army’s 5th Batallion Rajputana Rifles ( Napiers Rifles) were looking to revive their old Portrait Painting which was a legacy of their Martyr Soldier Chelu Ram who had received Victoria Cross Award in World War II. The painting of his widowed wife, father and son while receiving his award was captured in oil painting many years ago, which was now fading.
So, they found out about The Art and Craft Gallery’s social cause and loved the fact that they will get the commission artwork without having to invest time with the communication process. Also, the ethical of supporting artists directly made a perfect sense to them!
Four artists from our gallery pitched their concepts for the project out of which , Mr. Arun Kumar Bajaj’s work was selected and he got the honour of creating the following masterpiece for the Indian Army, which is a great honour for every Indian artists.
